home (hōm)

Lisbon is my home. is were I feel safe and secure. were I found myself. inspires me.
I go there once a year to walk around and feel the city and its very special light. miss it.

I live in Porto and I plan to discover and share it with you here in wonderland.
this is my room. my creative environment. took these photos with my cellphone.

These photo's are fab. Think you should definately invest in a camera when you can. Love the architecture on the first set of photo's and love the pink tones on the second set.

Love the photos!!! You have a very good eye and can't wait to see what you do with your new camera ;) I will say a prayer for you that you get it soon.
As for as a house being a home, this is not true. I lost my home in Hurricane Katrina and found that its people and experiences that makes a heart a home. Thanks so much for sharing and love your wonderland. You have such a great attitude about life, thanks for the inspiration!

Thank you for sharing your "home" with us, Ana. I can see that Lisbon is a beautiful city through your pictues. I like the kitty, too! I also am hoping to get a good camera before the year is over.

@mom of Ana: what a touching comment. I think you are a very warm person. So nice you are following this blog of your daughter.
@Ana: this collage is a beauty to the eye. Now PT is definitely on the first place of my travel wish list. But first I want to learn some Portuguese, 'cause I never travel to places without knowing (at least some important words of) the language. So maybe, you and LMJ can help me :-)

PS: I love poppies. These flowers are so special. Nice to have some in your room :-)

@cococita, I'll help you with the portuguese with pleasure. just let me know what vocabulary you want to learn. we can eat vanilla ice cream the three of us ;) I can be your tour guide in Lisbon and LMJ can be our tour guide in Porto (here I am making myself invited, lol). I adore poppies. we have fields of them South, mostly in Alentejo, during Spring time.

@cococita: we can go through a few Portuguese words this weekend :)

@Ana: I love Lisbon, it does have such a magical light! The most beautiful light in the world. Porto is my home town and my love for it is one of knowledge and understanding; I know you in all your flaws and love you more for them. I love its delicate brusqueness and warm people, the winding roads leading everywhere and nowhere, the river and its bridges. Porto is beautiful to me and is what home is. Definitely.

Very nice put together, Ana... I love your pictures. They are almost like small collages put together. It seems like it's a beautiful place you live in too.

@LMJ I understand you completely. our home is where our heart is. I'm learning to love Porto but not as I love Lisbon with its wide avenues and trees everywhere :)

Hi Ira :) welcome! and thank you for your kind words :)

I'm having so much fun editing photos on Picnik! learning so much with you Vicki :) I'm so excited with everything that I was sharing the news with my niece (she's 15 and very creative) just to find out that she already uses photo editors (even know how to use photoshop!) so it's me learning from her instead, lol.

ces photos me fait penser à notre première rencontre à Lisboa.Je n'ai pas oublié cette petite place où tu nous avais invités à déjeuner et le jardin près de chez toi.
De bons souvenirs. Christine
