Write On Wednesdays Exercise 12 - The Fight

* submission for WOW and SkyWatch Friday *

I fight with myself pretty often. I've a voice inside my head that criticizes almost everything that I do. a few years back it grew stronger and I almost lost my mind. I lost memory of who I was but I didn't loose the fight. I know the best weapon to win this war is to love myself, to cherish that inner voice that usually destroys my dreams. because is the lack of love in my life that gave strenght to that voice and almost destroyed my Faith in myself. (and this is my five minutes story this week! the picture is a reminder that Life can be peaceful.)

Beautiful sky, Ana. I think confidence in yourself and your dreams comes with age. You'll get there. :)

this is magic. what you do. on my first visit to your blog I was intimidated by your talent and hesitant to even leave a comment. your work far exceeds my own, I was shy about having you see mine. when i looked at your photos i thought "oh, she has so much confidence, her work is truly bold and shouts with beauty and clarity". now i read your words today and they don't reconcile with what i saw and thought initially. Ana. sending you a hug from across the waters.

Dearest Ana... it is all part of the journey, is it not? I love your seeing, your honesty, your lovely words, and your beautiful images. I so enjoy visiting your blog, it is a place I so look forward to visiting and resting a while.

(And Ms. Becky - no surprise that we find each other here... where beautiful words and images and inspiration abound. Good to see you :)

I can relate to your words Ana! I am also one of those people who have that "voice" inside their head -- Always questioning if I am good enough, etc.
You have a beautiful picture to go along with your beautiful words! I love how you didn't let "the fight" when you over. Wonderful job! :)

Ana, this piece is so short but it says so much. Even in just a few sentences your writing is elegant and beautiful. Your emotions shine through, and the picture is exquisite. Wonderful.

I liked the line about losing your memory of who you were but not losing the fight! Very wise!

Ana Eugenio said...

thank you dear :) it's something I still have to deal every day, so it's more a hope line than a wise one.

Beautiful. Learning to love yourself is one of the most difficult lessons to learn. We are far more critical of ourselves than others are...that's the truth.

Gorgeous pic too. :)
